Stimulating your child daily by teaching your nanny developmental play

Children under 3 mostly engage in parallel play, meaning they play alongside others but don’t interact much. At this age, they need to ’emotionally refuel’—exploring the world with curiosity while knowing they can return to their mom or caregiver for comfort, like a reassuring hug.

With Nanny ‘n Me, unlike crowded groups, individual struggles receive immediate support, preserving their self-belief and fostering resilience.

A curriculum designed to introduce your little one and nanny to the developmental stages

A million neural connections are made EVERY second, more than any other time in their lives. Positive interactions from the adults in their lives is crucial to their brain development and ability to succeed at school and life.

Stimulation and exposure to different experiences like textures and movement determine which brain connections will develop and stay for the rest of their lives. Nanny ‘n Me’s play based learning curriculum focuses on the 8 major developmental stages. We show your nanny how to use household items to stimulate your little one in each stage of their growth.

What would you like to know?

From 4 or 5 months or when your baby is able to sit supported in your nanny’s lap until 14 or 15 months

Toddler groups are from 14 or 15 months to three years old.

As the programme is written by an OT, all the activities have been tried and tested and the facilitators have been trained in early learning.  We come alongside each nanny and child pair and adapt the activities to suit your child’s developmental stage.

We love showing your nanny how best to scaffold your child’s learning. That is, provide just enough support for your child to complete the task at hand and achieve success. ‘Just the right challenge’ ensures children are not bored (task too easy) or frustrated (task too hard).

We respect nannies as adult learners with much life experience. Many may not have had exposure to the play activities and materials found in the employer’s home.

We come alongside nannies, encouraging them through hands-on learning activities so that they can actively witness your child’s curiosity and natural desire to learn. Our sessions are focussed on assisting nannies to apply developmental concepts in an experiential way.

We have seen nannies transform in their role of carer, understanding what a crucial part they have to play in a child’s development – not only yours but theirs as well! They feel valued and appreciated because they experience positive feedback weekly and are acknowledged with certificates every six weeks.

Nannies get weekly activity ideas to continue the fun and learning at home.

Home fun activities follow what was learnt in the sessions.

Activities usually make use of items around the house or items that are taken home from the session.

Some nannies will opt in to have the home fun done on a play date and this builds a community.

We focus on a developmental area for six weeks, for example Sensory Development. The activities that your child and nanny engage in together are then visible explanations of how and what children learn for our discussion time with the nannies.

Nannies receive a certificate after every six weeks.

For those groups meeting in the parks we will notify you the day prior to the session via email and on the day via WhatsApp to you and your nanny of the back up venue address.

For the colder winter months we will meet at the backup address until it is warm enough to resume the park sessions.

Please ensure you and your nanny’s contact details are current!

Well, we would love to start one for you! Just email us and we are happy to start a group if we have four nannies and little ones join.

Host the babies and nannies at your house for a month for the hour long sessions in the winter months and on rainy days and you can get a 25% discount.

We run throughout the year, only taking a break for the first week in July and then mid December to mid January. If you are going on holiday and email us in the preceding month we are able to invoice you only for the sessions you plan to attend.
